In September 2024, Nordic Air Defence unveiled its first product, the Kreuger 100, a dual-use drone-interceptor platform engineered in Sweden by a diverse, international team. Our engineers and operators bring experience from leading defence, drone, and tech organisations worldwide, including Palantir, Kratos, SAAB, Anduril, and others.
The Role
This is a full-time, on-site role in Stockholm. As Director of Flight Test Engineering, you will own the planning, coordination, and execution of flight tests for Nordic Air Defence systems.
Responsibilities
- Define the overall flight-test strategy and roadmap for our interceptor platforms
- Plan and execute flight-test campaigns, including test cards, envelopes, and hazard analyses
- Lead flight-test operations at the range: pre-flight, test execution, and post-flight debrief
- Analyse flight data to validate performance, tune systems, and identify issues
- Ensure rigorous adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate closely with avionics, guidance, software, and mechanical teams on test objectives
- Troubleshoot systems and feed findings back into design improvements and future iterations
Qualifications
- Deep experience in Flight Test Engineering and conducting flight tests
- Strong understanding of aircraft systems and aerospace engineering
- Knowledge of systems engineering principles and their application to aerospace systems
- Proven ability to design, execute, and analyse structured flight-test campaigns
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills; comfortable working cross-functionally
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field
- Experience in the defence or aerospace industry
- Familiarity with drones and unmanned aerial systems (UAS) is a strong advantage
- Prior experience across multiple air vehicles (manned or unmanned), including envelope expansion or performance testing
